<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><span><b><span style="color: black">Darius Mehregan, M.D</span></b><span style="color: black">., Hermann Pinkus Chair, was invited to speak on &ldquo;Alopecia&rdquo; and &ldquo;How to Get the Most Out of Your Skin Biopsy Specimen&rdquo; to the Texas Dermatologic Society, </span><span style="color: black">San Antonio</span><span style="color: black">, </span><span style="color: black">May 1-2, 2008.</span></span></span></span></div>

<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><b><span style="color: black">David Mehregan, M.D.</span></b><span style="color: black">, Associate Chair &amp; Program Director, attended the 8<sup>th</sup> International Congress of the Iranian Dermatological Society in Tehran on April 24-26.&nbsp;He spoke at the &ldquo;Clinicopathologic Conference&rdquo; and on the topic of &ldquo;Folliculo-Sebaceous Tumors&rdquo;.&nbsp;Dr. Mehregan was made an honorary member of the Society.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><span style="color: black">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Dr. Mehregan was an invited Visiting Professor at the Department of Dermatology, Esfahan University of Medical Sciences in Iran.&nbsp;Dr. Mehregan gave a lecture on the topic of &ldquo;</span>Necrobiotic Xanthogranuloma&rdquo;<span style="color: black"> on April 28, 2008.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman">&nbsp;</span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><b><span style="color: black">Peter Aronson, M.D</span></b><span style="color: black">.,was named Chief of the Dermatology service at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in January, 2008. &nbsp;Dr. </span>Aronson takes over for Dr. Boyd Savoy who will concentrate on research into the role of reactive oxygen species in psoriasis. </span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><span style="color: black">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dr. Aronson joined the WSU Department of Dermatology faculty in 1984.&nbsp;Over the years he has held numerous positions on local and national boards and committees, such as the American Society of Dermatopathology Membership Committee (1988-1991), the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance (1985-1997), and Medical Staff </span><span style="color: black">Operations </span><span style="color: black">Committee-Detroit </span><span style="color: black">Receiving Hospital (1997-present).&nbsp;He has served as journal reviewer for <i>Pediatric Dermatology</i> and <i>Dermatitis</i>.&nbsp;</span></span></span></div>
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: medium"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman"><span style="color: black">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dr. Aronson has been actively involved in clinical research.&nbsp;Currently, he is working on a trial for the treatment of severe plaque psoriasis.&nbsp;His extensive record includes numerous publications and presentations at national meetings.&nbsp;Dr. Aronson is a dedicated teacher of medical students and residents who </span>will bring additional clinical teaching to the active dermatology service at the VA Medical Center.</span></span></div>

            <title>Chen Young, Ph.D., is the recipient of a Society for Investigative Dermatology Travel Fellowship</title>

<p>Chen Young, Ph.D., Adjunct Assistant Professor, is the recipient of a Society for Investigative Dermatology Travel Fellowship ($1,500).&nbsp;The travel award will be used to attend the International Investigative Dermatology 2008 Meeting held in Kyoto, Japan, May 14-17.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>At this meeting, Dr. Young, will give an oral and poster presentation on The Role of Reactive Oxygen Species in TNF-alpha-Activated Signaling Cascade in Primary Human Keratinocytes: Implications for Psoriasis, coauthored by&nbsp;JI Koepke, MS Borkin, LB Savoy and SR Terlecky.</p>
